Historical Rates
Over the years Envato Market has changed fees & rates several times – always in favour of our authoring community! If you have been selling files for some time, these rates may apply to you. If you are a new author, you should review our Current Rates.
Fee Structure Change
As of September 1st, 2014, we've adopted a dual-fee model. You can learn about it at Introduction to Earnings.
Historical Rates #4
Between 2010 and 2014, author rates were 50-70% of each sale (our Envato Author Fee being 30-50%) for Exclusives and 33% for Non-exclusives (our Envato Author Fee being 67%). Note the Non-exclusive fee increased in August 2011.

Special Rates Policy
In addition to our published rates, it is possible to be granted special terms and rates in certain circumstances.
When we grow new categories or target specific types of content, it is important to have initial content to kickstart the new area. Generally we commission content, however, occasionally we also negotiate specific rates for Authors who can help grow Envato categories quickly.
