• Audio

  Most audio items can be uploaded through your Author Dashboard on AudioJungle. For how to do this, see: How To Upload Your Items to Envato. Here, we explain the specialized pathways if you need them, or how to get your audio items to Elements. Select below:

  FTP Upload for Audio

  Music on Envato Elements

  Please follow the steps below for selecting Music Tracks (excluding Sound Effects items), to sell on Envato Elements.

  1. Music tracks must first be published to AudioJungle on Envato Market.
  2. Items can then be opted-in for Envato Elements on the item 'edit' page. To do this, navigate to your portfolio page and click on the item that you would like to add to the Elements library. Once on the item page, click ‘edit.’
  3. Once on the Market item edit page, click the ‘Elements’ tab and check the Elements License checkbox. This box gives permission for the item to be made available on Envato Elements.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the tab and click Save Changes.

  Once you have completed the outlined steps, your items will appear on Envato Elements and be available for sale to Elements customers.

  Remember - you need to first be approved as an Envato Elements author. We are not currently accepting Audio applications for Envato Elements.

  

  Sound Effects on Envato Elements

  1. Items must first be published to AudioJungle on Envato Market.
  2. SFX items are then transferred to Elements automatically - don't worry, we will do this for you!

  Remember - you need to first be approved as an Envato Elements author. We are not currently accepting Audio applications for Envato Elements.

  FTP Upload for Audio

  Please follow these steps:

  1. Open your FTP client and enter the following details:
  Host: ftp.marketplace.envato.com
  Username: [your Envato username] (this is case-sensitive)
  Password: [your Envato API key]
  Port: 21
  Encryption: Use explicit FTP over TLS
  Click 'Connect' or your FTP client equivalent.

  

  2. Drag your files into the upload area of the FTP client. Do not place your files in the folder marked "bulk_import".

  3. Wait for your files to process, and then close your FTP client.

  

  4. Go to your Envato Market Author Dashboard and navigate to the upload page. Your files will be there waiting, ready to be entered into the upload form and submitted.

  

  Please Note: All FTP uploads will remain in the system for 24 hours only, at which point they are automatically removed. Please ensure you submit your items for review within 24 hours of beginning the FTP upload process.

• Video

  How you upload video items depends on whether you are submitting Stock Video (Stock Footage and Motion Graphics) or Video Templates.

  Video Templates

  You can upload video templates to Envato Market through your Author Dashboard on VideoHive. For how to do this, see: How To Upload Your Items to Envato. 

  Video Templates on Elements 

  Please follow the steps below for selecting Video Templates to sell on Envato Elements.

  1. Video Templates must first be published to VideoHive on Envato Market.
  2. Items can then be opted-in for Envato Elements on the item 'edit' page. To do this, navigate to your portfolio page and click on the item that you would like to add to the Elements library. Once on the item page, click ‘edit.’
  3. Once on the Market item edit page, click the ‘Elements’ tab and check the Elements License checkbox. This box gives permission for the item to be made available on Envato Elements.

  4. On the item edit page, click the next tab ‘Update Description & Price.’ In the Text Description field, provide your item description using the following basic markdown shown below:

  Bold	**Bold**
  Italics	*Italics*
  Bullet List	- Bullet Item 1 - Bullet Item 2 - etc
  Numbered List	1. Numbered Item 1 2. Numbered Item 2 3. etc.

  You will also need to add your Audio attribution here in the Text Description field, if you have used an AudioJungle Track in your Item preview. Write the AudioJungle author's username and the Item ID.

  5. Upload a high-resolution preview image and please note the following dimensions:

  • Recommended size: 2560 x 1440
  • Minimum size requirement: 1920 x 1080 (16:9)

  

  6. Scroll to the bottom of the tab and click Save Changes.

  Once you have completed the outlined steps, your items will appear on Envato Elements and be available for download by Elements customers.

  Remember - you need to first be approved as an Envato Elements author.

  Stock Video

  This guide will walk you through preparing and uploading your stock footage or motion graphics using the Portfolio Manager.

  Before You Begin: Requirements & Metadata

  To ensure your stock videos are approved successfully, you must meet our technical and content requirements. Please review our guide on Video Item Preparation & Technical Requirements before you start.
  
  Technical Requirements Checklist

  An item cannot be submitted for review until it meets these minimum requirements:

  • A Title (under 100 characters)
  • A Description
  • Keywords (at least 1, no more than 50)
  • Price set for both Single Use and Multi-use Licenses
  • QuickTime MOV or MP4 file, using Photo JPEG, H.264 or ProRes encoding
  • Resolution of 1920x1080, 2K or 4K (8K also accepted for Stock Footage)
  • For Stock Footage, minimum 5 seconds of usable footage

  Metadata

  Technical specifications (resolution, frame rate, encoding, clip count and duration) are automatically read from your video file, unless you are uploading as a ZIP. If you submit your item as a ZIP, these specifications won't be auto-detected and you will need to enter them manually.

  Bulk CSV Metadata
  As noted in our Portfolio Manager guides, you are able to use a CSV file to attach metadata to several items at once.

  The Stock Video CSV file requires specific inputs to match the metadata to the appropriate item, so we recommend checking the below table to ensure you've completed the CSV correctly.

  Header name	Explanation
  Filename	Include file extension. Example: if you upload a file named 078.mov, the filename in the CSV would be "078.mov"
  Title	Max length 100 characters. If your titles exceed the 100 character limit it will cause an error.
  Description	Description of file.
  Keywords	Keywords to accurately describe the item, separated by commas. maximum 50 keywords allowed keywords can only contain a-z, A-Z, 0-9, "." characters only. please be aware that non-English characters are not allowed individual keywords must be 100 characters or less individual keywords cannot be a number only individual keywords cannot begin with "." total characters in the keywords field must be less than 2048 characters or less

  Recognizable People	It is a legal requirement that a valid release form is submitted for every item that contains recognizable people. If there are recognizable people in the file mark with Y, Yes, True. If not mark with N, No, False
  Recognizable Buildings	It is a legal requirement that a valid release form is submitted for every item that contains recognizable buildings. If there are recognizable buildings or property in the file mark with Y, Yes, True. If not mark with N, No, False
  Releases (filenames)	If there are "Recognizable People" or "Recognizable Buildings", all release filenames for that clip must be listed and comma separated, including the extension. e.g. "ReleaseName.jpeg, ReleaseName.pdf"
  Is Motion Graphics?	Optional Unless file is Motion Graphics. If file is Motion Graphics, mark with Yes. If not, leave blank. If there are both Motion Graphics and Stock Video files, mark Motion Graphics with Yes and Stock Video with No.
  AudioJungle Track (IDs)	If AudioJungle tracks have been used in the preview, please complete. Multiple entries should be comma separated.
  Color	Optional - Choose one: Black & White Full Color Monochrome
  Pace	Optional - Choose one or multiple, separated by comma: Stop Motion Super Slow Motion Slow Motion Real Time Fast Motion Time Lapse

  Alpha Channel	Optional If the main video has been included with an alpha channel, mark with Y, Yes, True. If not, leave blank.
  Looped	Optional In order to advertise a file as being looped, the videos must loop seamlessly without any visible or noticeable restarting. If looped, mark with Y, Yes, True. If not, leave blank.

  Uploading items to Portfolio Manager

  Once you've met the requirements above, you can follow these steps to submit your items to Portfolio Manager:

  To submit your items using Portfolio Manager:

  1. Sign in to Portfolio Manager (https://portfolio.envato.com/).
  2. Upload your items by browsing files or using the Drag and drop feature.
  3. Select Edit on your uploaded item to complete the required metadata fields.
  4. When your items are ready to submit, tick the agreement box confirming you hold all necessary legal rights and valid releases.
  5. Select Submit to send your item for review.

  Uploading items via FTP

  To upload stock video items via FTP, please follow the below steps. 
  
  Please note: you will need to have an FTP client installed before following the processes below. We recommend FileZilla’s FTP client and have documented the process using this third-party software. However, you may be more familiar with and are welcome to use an alternative FTP client.

  You’ll need an API key to use as your password for FTP upload. If you haven’t got this yet, simply:

  • Visit https://build.envato.com/create-token/
  • Choose a token name
  • In the permissions list below, make sure to check ‘View and search Envato sites’ and ‘View your Envato Account username’.
  • Then, click Create Token

  Please follow this process for Stock Footage and Motion Graphics Items.

  1. Open your FTP client and enter the following details:

  • Host: http://ftp.aws.portfolio.envato.com/ 
  • Username: [your Envato username] (this is case-sensitive)
  • Password: [your Envato API key]
  • Port: 21
  • Encryption: Use explicit FTP over TLS
  • Click 'Connect' or your FTP client equivalent.

  

  2. Drag your files into the upload area of the FTP client.

  3. Wait for your files to process, and then close your FTP client.

  

  4. Return to Portfolio Manager to review your uploaded files.

• Themes and Code

  All Theme and Code items can be uploaded through your Author Dashboard on either ThemeForest or CodeCanyon. For how to do this, see: How To Upload Your Items to Envato. Here, we explain how to get your Web and Code items to Envato Elements. Select below:

  Web and Code items on Envato Elements

  Template Kits on Envato Elements

  Web and Code items on Envato Elements

  Web and code items are integrated between ThemeForest on Envato Market and Envato Elements to make the experience of contributing CMS & HTML Templates to Elements easier.

  This works by entering your specific item ID from ThemeForest or CodeCanyon to create a link between the two items, and then bringing across the zip asset file and live preview URL in the Elements App.

  The CMS Templates Item Type on Elements includes the following categories:

  • Drupal
  • Instapage
  • Joomla
  • Magento
  • Muse
  • OpenCart
  • PrestaShop
  • Shopify
  • Unbounce
  • WordPress

  The Web Templates Item Type on Elements includes the following categories:

  • Site Templates
  • Landing Page Templates

  There are two separate Item Types for Admin or Email Templates:

  • Admin Templates
  • Email Templates

  Given the complex nature of these items they must be approved by the ThemeForest or CodeCanyon review teams and exist on Envato Market.

  Please follow the detailed steps below to contribute your web and code items from Envato Market to Envato Elements:

  1. Login to Elements Author with your Envato account.
  2. Head over to your My Items dashboard.
  3. Select CMS Templates, Web Templates, Admin Templates or Email Templates from the Item Type dropdown.
  4. Input the ThemeForest Item ID for the item you wish to contribute to Elements (the item ID can be located in the item URL - e.g. https://themeforest.net/item/item-name/12345678
  5. Select the Create Item button to begin the upload process.
  6. The zip file asset and the live preview URL will both be transported over to Elements via integration with ThemeForest. As a result, these two assets are not editable during upload (when you update the items zip asset on ThemeForest the update will also flow through to Envato Elements).
  7. Only the zip asset file and live preview URL are inserted via the link with Envato Market. Fill in all other required details as accurately as you can and pay strict attention to our Quality Expectations. More specifically, please consider how you can best present your items on Envato Elements.

  It is a requirement that items of these types exist on ThemeForest, however that does not mean you should contribute all of your items to Envato Elements. Please avoid older items and focus on your modern, clean and well-presented templates.

  A note on author collaboration and partnerships: We're aware that some authors on ThemeForest collaborate or obtain permission from the original designer to create new items with the original author's design. Please keep in mind that Elements is a separate platform to Envato Market and it is your responsibility to ensure you have the rights to list your item on Elements as per the Author Agreement.

  Template Kits on Envato Elements

  1. Items must first be published to ThemeForest on Envato Market.
  2. Template Kits are then transferred to Elements automatically - don't worry, we will do this for you!

  Remember - you need to first be approved as an Envato Elements author. Apply Here!

• Graphics

  How you upload your items depends on the type of graphic you are submitting. For most Graphics, you will use the Elements Contributor Dashboard. The only exception is for Animated Graphics, which are uploaded via the Portfolio Manager.

  Please select the guide that matches your item type:

  • All other Graphic items to Envato Elements
  • Animated Graphics to Envato Elements
  • Graphic items to Envato Market

  Upload Graphic Items to Envato Elements

  If you have been invited to contribute to Envato Elements, you can upload your graphic items to sell on Envato Elements through the Elements Contributor Dashboard.

  Unlike the other content types, graphic items do not need to be uploaded through Envato Market before being added to Envato Elements.

  You will only have access to the Elements Contributor Dashboard if you have been invited to contribute to Elements for Graphics. If you’re interested in being considered for Elements, please apply here.

  Upload Animated Graphics to Portfolio Manager

  Here’s how to get your Animated Graphics items onto Envato Elements.

  Before You Begin: Requirements & Metadata

  Before you can submit an item for review, make sure it meets these minimum requirements:

  • A Title (under 100 characters)
  • A Description
  • At least 1 and no more than 50 Author Tags
  • Category
  • Looping
  • JSON (.json) file format

  Technical Requirements Checklist

  An item cannot be submitted for review until it meets these minimum requirements:

  • JSON Lottie file
  • Minimal loop length of 2 seconds
  • Mastery of technical elements and application of design principles and animation
  • Feature seamless looping and smooth, fluid motion
  • Animation that isRelevant to the animation

  How to Upload Animated Graphics

  Once you've met the requirements above, you can follow these steps to submit your items to Portfolio Manager:

  To submit your items using Portfolio Manager:

  1. Sign in to Portfolio Manager (https://portfolio.envato.com/).
  2. Upload your items by browsing files or using the Drag and drop feature.
  3. Select Edit on your uploaded item to complete the required metadata fields.
  4. When your items are ready to submit, tick the agreement box confirming you hold all necessary legal rights and valid releases.
  5. Select Submit to send your item for review.

  Upload Graphic Items to GraphicRiver (Envato Market)

  If you wish to upload your Graphic items to GraphicRiver (not Envato Elements), use your Author Dashboard on Envato Market. For instructions, please see our article: How To Upload Your Items to Envato.

• Photos

  This guide will walk you through preparing and uploading your photos using the Portfolio Manager.

  Before You Begin: Requirements & Metadata

  To ensure your photos are approved successfully, you must meet our technical and content requirements. Please review our guide on Photos: Item Preparation & Technical Requirements before you start.

  Metadata

  The Portfolio Manager automatically reads the title, description, and tags directly from your photo's metadata.

  • Embed your metadata first: To make your workflow more efficient, always embed the title, description, and tags into your photo's metadata before uploading.
  • The metadata title is key: The title assigned in the metadata will be used, regardless of the actual file name.
  • You can also bulk apply metadata via CSV. For an example of the photo CSV, click here. 

  Technical Requirements Checklist

  An item cannot be submitted for review until it meets these minimum requirements:

  • A Title (under 100 characters)
  • A Description
  • At least 1 and no more than 50 Author Tags
  • RGB color format
  • JPG or JPEG file format
  • Resolution between 4 and 80 Megapixels

  How to Upload Photos

  Once you've met the requirements above, you can follow these steps to submit your items to Portfolio Manager:

  To submit your items using Portfolio Manager:

  1. Sign in to Portfolio Manager (https://portfolio.envato.com/).
  2. Upload your items by browsing files or using the Drag and drop feature.
  3. Select Edit on your uploaded item to complete the required metadata fields.
  4. When your items are ready to submit, tick the agreement box confirming you hold all necessary legal rights and valid releases.
  5. Select Submit to send your item for review.

• 3D

  Here, we explain how to get your 3D items uploaded to Envato Market and Envato Elements.

  3D on Envato Market

  1. Please familiarize yourself with the 3D Item Preparation & Technical Requirements to ensure your submissions are successfully approved.
  2. Login at 3DOcean.net (If you aren’t immediately directed to your dashboard, you can use this link: https://3docean.net/author_dashboard).

  3. Select the relevant item type from the dropdown list on the right, under ‘Upload an item’.

     

  4. Fill in the required information on this page. You can find more information about the item preparation and required metadata here: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000471943-How-to-Upload-Your-Items-to-Envato.

  5. Check that you have completed all relevant fields, including setting a price, and have uploaded the required files. Once everything has been completed, you must read and tick the acknowledgement, if it’s accurate for you, then you can click ‘Upload’.

     

  6. Job done! Your item will now be in our queue, awaiting review by our team. You will receive an update once the review is complete.

  3D on Envato Elements

  All 3D items can be uploaded through the Portfolio Manager. Here, we explain how to get your 3D items to Envato Elements.

  Before You Begin: Requirements & Metadata

  To ensure your 3D items are approved successfully, you must meet our technical and content requirements. Please review our guide on 3D Item Preparation & Technical Requirements  before you start.

  Technical Requirements Checklist

  An item cannot be submitted for review until it meets these minimum requirements:

  • A Title (under 100 characters)
  • A Description
  • Item Tags (minimum of 1 tag & maximum of 50 tags)
  • OBJ, FBX, GLTF, or GLB file format for 3D Models
  • .mat, .ma, .rib, or .oth file format for shader and material for 3D Models
  • Spline 3D or Blender file format for 3D templates.

  How to Upload Photos

  Once you've met the requirements above, you can follow these steps to submit your items to Portfolio Manager:

  To submit your items using Portfolio Manager:

  1. Sign in to Portfolio Manager (https://portfolio.envato.com/).
  2. Upload your items by browsing files or using the Drag and drop feature.
  3. Select Edit on your uploaded item to complete the required metadata fields.
