FAQ
What is a remix?
- On AudioJungle, a remix is an alternate version of an item which has been adapted from its original form by significantly changing the arrangement, style or genre.
- A remix must be significantly different from the original track.
What is a Variation?
- A variation is when there are only minor differences made to a track, such as adding or subtracting certain elements. Variations are not considered to be significantly different from the original track and are therefore treated differently to remixes.
- Variations include things like shorter/longer edits, vocal/instrumental versions, looped versions, or simply versions with alternate tempos or keys, etc.
- Variations of a piece of music must be included as additional audio files within the original item, up to a maximum of 5 (including the main track), and are not accepted as separate AudioJungle items.
Note: You should never include individually exported stems from the main track (e.g. bassline only) either as additional audio files within the main item or as separate uploads, as these are not accepted on AudioJungle.
What's Allowed
Submitting remixes of your existing music as separate items are allowed, within the following guidelines:
- Just because the original music item has been approved does not guarantee the remix will also be accepted. All submissions are reviewed for quality individually.
- When submitting multiple remixes they must all be significantly different from the original and each other (different styles and genres).
- Only one remix is allowed per category (including one remix within the original category).
- This is an example of an acceptable remix: Main Track - Remixed Track.
Remixes of Public Domain Works
- You may submit arrangements of a public domain work for sale only if the work is in the worldwide public domain.
- Submitting multiple remixes of the same public domain work is permitted following the allowed remix guidelines above, i.e. 1 remix per category.
- For example, a cinematic Jingle Bells remix, and an indie rock Jingle Bells remix.
Remixes and Exclusivity
- If the original music is exclusive to Envato Market, then the remix must also be sold exclusively on Envato Market.
- Note the above does not apply to remixes of entirely Public Domain works.
What’s Not Allowed
Remixes may not be included as variations within the original main item submission.
NOTE: Please be aware that remixing another artist’s original work and selling it as your own without proper rights/permission is a violation of copyright.
FAQ
Can I completely change the title of a remixed submission?
Generally, you should keep the title of the original work intact in whole or in part, when submitting the item. This will make it clear your remix is related to an existing track and also help customers to find the specific music they’re looking for.
For example:
OKAY: Jingle Bells > “Jingle Bells Epic Trance Remix”
NOT OKAY: Jingle Bells > “Dancing in the Snow”
Can I include the Remix/es within the main item (like a variation) if the remix is also sold individually?
No. As a remix is meant to be licensed as a unique item, it should not be included as a variation with the original music item. Both items can, however, be included in a single Music Pack.
Can I submit a Music Pack comprised of the main item with remix versions from other categories?
Yes, but only if the remixes have already been accepted individually. A Music Pack should comprise a minimum of three distinct items (with different page links), and cannot contain items already being used in other Music Packs.
