Even though an Envato Local Community will only need 1-3 leaders maximum, leaders will always have a rallying members working alongside them, which are your Local Teams. The supportive nature of Envato Communities, your local focus and knowledge, and our approach to delegation and team set-up (which we will take you through later on) are what contributes to the growth and success of the people within the local communities.
Of course, as a Leader, there are some core responsibilities and activities that are required. However, it’s important to note that Envato Local Leaders will be able to connect with other Leaders in other regions and Envato Staff via the private Slack channel. In this group, leaders will be able to receive support and harness the expertise and advice of fellow leaders around the world as well as seek Envato Staff support if needed. This is a great way to connect and develop those leadership skills!
So with this in mind, we have designed some expectations, that all Envato Local leaders will need to adhere to. We have designed these responsibilities to help grow, develop and nurture your Envato Local community, so following these activities and tasks are crucial to the success of a leader and their community.
In-Person Responsibilities, Activities & Content:
The primary purpose and role of your local community is to run Envato local events in your region. We believe this is important as it provides authors with a way to connect with local authors, in their local language and provide a way to seek support.
This means that Envato Local leaders and their teams will need to commit to launching quarterly local events (one event every three months) as part of their main responsibilities.
Offline Responsibilities, Activities & Content:
If you have an existing online group (or are planning to launch a brand new one) on Facebook, Envato forums or another channel, you might want to help grow and nurture your community by participating in the activities we have outlined below. These activities will help to maintain consistent communication and help spark peer-to-peer discussions.
Activities may include: Onboarding new members, creating localised resources, engaging in daily dialogue, supporting members, moderation of online channels and instilling a code of conduct.
Reporting and Feedback
We want to hear from you and your community. As part of your role, we ask that you collect feedback to pass on to Envato Staff on a quarterly basis and share it via the slack channel. This includes:
- Reporting on the effectiveness of activities and events.
- Reporting on areas of concern/influence/opportunities.
- Reporting on the overall feedback from your community.
We will provide you with a template to help collate your feedback and data each month and how to best measure the health of your community post-event.
